Linked in is a social media website designed for professionals to exchange information, ideas and opportunities. As of 2019 Linked In has over 500 million members. according to the LinkedIn website “LinkedIn connects you to your trusted contacts and helps you exchange knowledge, ideas, and opportunities with a broader network of professionals.”

When you signup for LinkedIn there website scans the address book of your local PC and suggests members that match your list that you can connect with through their portal. Linked in claims, “you’ll never lose touch with your contacts again when they move or change jobs because they will update their online profiles”.

Linked in allows you to network with those you already know and allows you to find “trusted” introductions for information, ideas and services you need through using their online Answers and Groups functions.
